Safety first!

It was happening several years ago, when I was riding motorcycle with my friend, Tri Hardoyo. He was driving the motorbike and I am a passenger. I was wearing a pair of sandals, t-shirt and trouser. My head was covered by worker-style helmet.

We was riding slowly, but suddenly, a careless car was driving so fast. My friend, Tri, was trying to stabilisize motorbike handle and boom…

I was jumping and rolling over on the road. Tri was sliding down with his motorbike, hoping his motorbike machine didn’t break into pieces.

I am lying down on the Daan Mogot road, my eyes was watching blue sky high and trying to get up. Fortunately, my face almost had kissed by silver car front hood. The silver car driver had kicked his car brake on time. Alhamdulillah, I was safe and alive. Suddenly, the silver car driver was yelled at me.

Astagfirullah, my friend, Tri as I remembered. Did he safe?

Fortunately, he was standing in the middle separator section, under a big tree. He was sad, watching his motorbike had lied down on the road, Daan Mogot kilometer 13 main street. Such, a lucky number 13!

I have heard some spooky stories about this Daan Mogot kilometer13.

Here some tips to be save riding motorbike:

Service your motorbike regularly, braking system, motor handle, motor engine, chain system or belt system, motor bike and all-in-one comprehensive services.

Use half-face or full-face helmet. Worker style type helmet is not an option. I have one and had been broken into pieces when it hits on the road. Very scary, isn’t it? Pay little bit more to protect your own head.

Use motorbike shoes or no string attach shoes to avoid your string shoes had tied up to your motorbike wheel.

Use a jacket, motorbike jacket is a good choice. But you can wearing a nice and cozy leather jacket will be fine.

Use a motorbike pant, trousers, jeans or dress pants, to protect your knees, your legs and your own feet.

Say Bismillahirraahmirrahim for Moslem and others can prayed based on your own believes.

May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala protect us, all! Amin!
